Seth Anderson

"Seth Anderson has a very intuitive way of working. As he puts it, 'The drawing is always ahead of where my mind is.' Clearly, he is very interested in the power of the line. The line is the driver of the work. But what the line looks like and where it goes give rise to the space in between. Anderson is very intrigued by the parallels between his art and the way we move through our daily lives with twists and turns and bumps which all give rise to a range of emotions and thoughts. He expresses these resultant feelings and reflections with color, texture, and shape. And to convey some of the complexity of life, Anderson chooses to use a variety of media including pens, markers, oils, acrylics, stains, pastels, and inks applied to various types of paper, often on both sides. All of this is applied to assorted substrates such as plexiglass or wood and then coated with beeswax to finish." - EO Art Lab
