Yvette Hawkins is an artist and writer living in the North East of England. Her inspiration comes from the natural environment, organic and architectural structures and the extraordinary things that happen to ordinary people. She finds the notion of seeing words before reading fascinating, and actively encourages her audience to see words before reading them and distorts the written word so that they can never be read. It is the frustration of the unknown that she wants to capture, and that there is strength in what can never be discovered is what is unique about her work.
