Steven E. Main and Karen Korobow-Main

"The designs in my work are created by first laying out hand-pulled cane in a small yet intricate pattern on a sheet of steel called a marver. Once this cane is heated sufficiently, the blowpipe is then rolled across it, picking up the design onto the first gather of opaque, colored glass. Often, at this stage, hot bits are added or threaded onto the glass core. As the piece takes form, the designed core expands to become the inside layer of the piece. Several more layers of clear glass are then gathered onto the piece, after which it is blown out and shaped." - Steven Main
