My work here today acts as a bridge from the oil pastels that intrigued me for years to a more focused interest in three-dimensional work. I turned to wax as a medium to add layers to my art -- to sculpt as I paint. An ancient Greek art form that mixes wax with pigments, encaustic enables me to sculpt my work while actually painting with a brush.
