Kim Bernard

"Working with the infinitely forgiving medium of wax, I layer, burn, scrape, embed and transfer. Often implementing contrasting materials, like encaustic and lead, I am intrigued by the rapport, whether it contrasts, harmonizes, opposes or compliments. Dividing the surface into compartments fosters a dialogue among the elements. Those elements that speak to me remain, while those that do not are removed." - Kim Bernard
