Sheryl Zacharia

"Making vessels intrigues me because they break the boundaries between functional pottery and sculpture. It also gives me the chance to work two and three dimensionally, sculpting a piece and then using the surface as a canvas on which to paint. I look for a personality in each pot and a way to enhance it with color, texture and detail. I like my pots to be utilitarian, but also to have an aesthetic presence of their own." - Sharyl Zacharia
