June Schwarcz

"All my work is on copper that has been worked in some fashion before applying transparent enamel. The copper can be etched or electroplated to give a relief surface. I often use very thin copper foil. This can be manipulated, even sewn, like fabric. It is then plated to desired thickness.
Many of the exterior surfaces of my bowls are colored by means of raku firing, chemical oxidation, or a final plating of iron, nickel, gold or silver. " - June Schwarcz
